If cross company code settings are done, entry in one company code would generate the entry in the other company code also. This needs entries to be passed in both company codes. Refer to section under Qbox MU and Sharing for additional details. At times one company code makes purchases on behalf of another company code or makes payment on behalf of another company code.

For the user profile you use while remote, install Qbox with a different email address, which can be any private or public domain.Setup Qbox MU to access the common folder on the network server to access QuickBooks Company files in multi-user mode along with the other users in the office. QuickBooks asks you to name your company. QuickBooks requires some additional information to complete the basic company setup. Press the F2 key or Ctrl+1 to open file information. Navigate to the file you want to delete and select Open. From the File menu, choose Open or Restore Company.
Select the new template and click the Templates button again. If you want to remove a company file altogether, you can use QuickBooks to delete the file permanently. QuickBooks inserts a new template into the list with a default name (for example, 'Copy of: Intuit Service Invoice'). For the user profile you use in the office, install Qbox with the email address that has the same private domain as other users in the office. Enter your Email or user ID and Password. QuickBooks displays the Select Template Type dialog.
This is done by creating two Windows user profiles on the Laptop and installing Qbox with different email addresses on each profile. Click Scan to start the scanning process. The path to the company file is in the Folder with QuickBooks company files field. Select the company file, and click the OK button. The only time I change the actual vendor name is if there is a spelling mistake when first set up or the vendor name was wrong such as it was created as Marthas Wine Company and should have been Marys Wine Company. Click Add Folder, and browse the company file folder. Thats what I do to avoid the historical data from changing to the new name is to create a new vendor all together. You can setup Qbox on your Windows Laptop to access your QuickBooks Company files on a network server in multi-user mode while you are in your office, and from the Laptop local storage while you are traveling or working from home.
